Pacific Ore Ltd announced on October 3 that Canadian BioMetals Inc, an Ontario registered company in which it has a 50% interest, has signed a letter of understanding with Vale Inco on the treatment of sulphide rich tailings produced and stored by Inco at its Sudbury nickel operations in Ontario, Canada.
Canadian BioMetals will fund an optimisation study into the application of BioTails to Inco's extensive tailings at Sudbury.
BioTails is a development of the Pacific Ore's proprietary heap leaching technology BioHeap. The study is expected to take between 9 and 12 months.
